Gold Coast EMERGENCY TREE SERVICE
WELCOME TO OUR
EMERGENCY TREE SERVICE ON THE GOLD COAST
Trees provide many aesthetic, environmental and lifestyle benefits to those working and living in their vicinity. Whilst these benefits increase with the age and size of the tree, so do the risks of damage and personal injury. Property owners have a responsibility to implement a strategy which assesses tree hazards, determines the level of exposure, and developes a system of risk management.
Tree-related storm damage to homes, buildings, fences and property is a regular occurence on the Gold Coast each year during summer. Severe wet weather conditions, including howling winds and heavy rain, results in saturated soils, weakened tree branches, root failure, falling limbs and up-rooted trees.
Recognising Tree Risk
If a tree is structurally compromised due to decay, death or disease, it has become a safety hazard. Sometimes, defects are not obvious to the untrained eye. We recommend an annual inspection late spring to help identify potentially dangerous conditions, and assist in minimising the risk of damage.
Some of the signs that a tree could be vulnerable to failure during a storm include:
- Structural instability due to a damaged or weak root system
- Structural instability due to disease or pest infestation
- Structural instability due to previous storm damage
- Close promitity to power lines or structures
- Excessive leaning due to root damage or poor weight spread
- Multiple or V-shaped trunks which are prone to cracking
- Deep cracks in the tree that extend through the trunk
- Unseasonal loss of bark, foliage or branches
- Broken, dead or hanging limbs
- Mushrooms growing under or on the tree indicating root rot
- Hollow or cavity in the trunk of the tree
Proactive Risk Management
Our certified arborists have the training and experience to identify faults, defects and structural issues that may indicate possible tree failure. If tree problems are detected during an assessment, our tree experts may recommend one of the following courses of action:
Tree Pruning - This is the elimination of decayed, diseased, dead, damaged or structurally flawed branches and limbs, which will assist in strengthening the tree, and reduce the likelihood of property damage during severe weather.
A wide range of tree pruning options are available, to suit the needs of your tree.
Tree Removal - Trees are visually appealing, provide shade, improve air quality and enhance livability. In some cases, removal may be the best course of action when an effective solution for high-rtsk conditions cannot be found.
Our arborists have over 10 years of experience in the removal of all size and types of trees, so you can rely on us to get the job done efficiently, quickly, and safely.
24-Hour Emergency Tree Service
A professional 24-hour emergency service is available that caters for a wide range of customer needs including:
- Fallen trees that are blocking paths, driveways or roads
- Trees that have fallen on structures, homes or vehicles
- Trees that are leaning or unstable due to storms
- Trees that have fallen near or on power lines
- Trees that have fallen into neighbouring properties
The emergency service is not limited to storm related accidents. Trees that are structurally defective, diseased, dead or dying can fall at any time, causing unexpected and considerable damage, personal injury of even loss of life.
Responding to Tree-Related Storm Damage
Severe weather can have an immediate and lasting impact on a property's landscape and buildings. Penetrating rains and strong winds work in unison to saturate and soften soils, while overturning trees.
During electrical storms, trees are extremely susceptible to lightning strikes due to their height. If a strikes passes through the entire trunk, the wood explodes and the tree is killed instantly. Over 50% of trees struck by lightning die immediately. A majority of those trees that initially survive, eventually succumb to disease or pest infestation.
If you experience a storm-related accident with a tree, we suggest:
- Secure the area
- Assess the damage
- Contact your insurance company if applicable
- Resist the temptation to undertake dangerous work yourself
- Consult a certified arborist
24-Hour Emergency Call Outs
For dangerous and urgent situations, our arborists offer a 24-hour emergency tree service on the Gold Coast. Fully trained and experienced teams are available to inspect the site, identify all hazards, then remove all tree material required to reduce the risk of further damage.
Staff then return during daylight hours to remove all tree trunks, limbs and branches, leaving the site in a tidy condition.
Stump and Rootball Removal
If a tree is uprooted, standard arborist services can remove the trunk, limbs and all branches. Often, a huge rootball will remain including a prominent root mass, which can be quite hazardous. Large Stump Grinding machines are available that can process rootballs in excess of 2 metres in diameter.
Once a rootball has been removed, a substantial hole in the ground will require filling. We recommend a reasonably quality soil. A large hole filled with wood grindings will continually supside over time as the wood decomposes.
